Director, Calvary Child Development Center

The Director of Calvary Child Development Center must have a call and a passion for ministry with young children in the infant/toddler through preschool ages.  The Director will provide leadership by communicating with staff and families the love and truth of God through an exciting curriculum of discovery. The Director will lead the staff by coordinating and encouraging them to share their gifts and talents for ministry. As the lead administrator of the center, the director also develops curriculum, handles staff and student issues, and ensures the school meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements: Requires Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent, and 3-5 Years of experience managing a Child Development Center is preferred. 4s Coordinator
This is a full-time position working year-round (40 hours per week), starting June 1.

Brief Description: The 4s Coordinator will train, orient, coach and evaluate all staff who work within the age group, supporting the mission, philosophy and standards of Calvary Child Development Center. Qualifications and Requirements: Commitment to Calvary’s Articles of Faith, Mission & Purpose, and Philosophy of Ministry; AA in Early Childhood Education; BS/BA in Education; and 8-10 years of experience working in the classroom.

4s & 5s Science Teacher
This is a part-time position working from August through May (29.5 hours per week), starting August 1.

Brief Description: The 4’s and 5’s Science Teacher is responsible for developing a science curriculum that is age level appropriate for the 4s and 5s preschool and daycare classes, planning and teaching effective science lessons, and maintaining and managing the use of the all associated equipment and animals. Qualifications and Requirements: Commitment to Calvary’s Articles of Faith, Mission & Purpose, and Philosophy of Ministry; AA in Early Childhood Education or related field; BS/BA in Education or related field; and 5-7 years of field-related experience, preferably within a classroom setting.

Assistant Teacher
This is a full-time position working year-round (35-39 hours per week), starting immediately.

Brief Description: The Assistant Teacher is to assist the Lead Teacher in any way needed to provide a safe and caring environment for the children, being ready to assume the Lead Teacher’s role or responsibilities whenever required. Qualifications and Requirements: Commitment to Calvary’s Articles of Faith, Mission & Purpose, and Philosophy of Ministry; AA in Early Childhood Education; BS/BA in Education; and 8-10 years of experience working in the classroom.

Afternoon Daycare Worker
This is a part-time position working year-round in a daycare room (25 hours per week), starting immediately.

Brief Description: The PM Daycare Worker will support the Lead Teacher and Assistant Teachers as needed in accordance with the philosophy and standard of Calvary Child Development Center. Qualifications and Requirements: Commitment to Calvary’s Articles of Faith, Mission & Purpose, and Philosophy of Ministry; AA in Early Childhood Education preferred or equivalent work experience.

Drama Teacher 
This is a part-time position working from August through the end of May (29.5 hours per week), starting August 1.

Brief Description: The drama teacher will plan and implement dramatic lessons for children ages 3-6 that include music, movement, verbal interaction, and self-expression. The drama teacher is also in charge of the annual Christmas program, Kindergarten graduation program, and any presentations held in the Sanctuary during morning worship or as needed for  other events. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task, work well individually as well as within a team, and be able to communicate effectively. Qualifications and Requirements: Commitment to Calvary’s Articles of Faith, Mission & Purpose, and Philosophy of Ministry; AA in Early Childhood Education or related field; BS/BA in Education or related field; and 5-7 years of field-related experience.

Front Office Administrative Assistant (AM)
This is a year-round, part-time position working 25 hours per week (8AM-1PM weekdays), starting June 1.

Brief Description: The AM Front Office Administrative Assistant will provide support and general assistance to the director, parents, guests and CDC staff, including greeting at the front desk, answering the telephone, managing the preschool email, processing credit card/cash transactions, maintaining office files/inventory, entering work orders, assisting with onsite office equipment and other support responsibilities. Qualifications and Requirements: Commitment to Calvary’s Articles of Faith, Mission & Purpose, and Philosophy of Ministry; 3-5 years experience as an administrative assistant; proficiency in Microsoft Office including (Word, Excel Powerpoint); familiarity with ACS Headmaster database; excellent communication skills; ability to be a self-starter and multi-task in a fast-paced office environment.

Lead Teacher
This is a full-time position working year-round (35-39 hours per week), starting immediately.

Brief description: The Lead Teacher is responsible for establishing and conducting an age-appropriate classroom that meets the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of each child within the classroom, in accordance with the goals and curriculum plan of Calvary Child Development Center. The Lead Teacher will also work in partnership with parents to encourage the highest level of growth and development for each child. Qualifications and Requirements: Commitment to Calvary’s Articles of Faith, Mission & Purpose, and Philosophy of Ministry; AA in Early Childhood Education; BS/BA in Education; and 8-10 years of experience working in the classroom.

School Nurse
This is a part-time position working year-round from 1-6PM weekdays (25 hours per week), starting June 1. 

Brief Description: The School Nurse will provide healthcare services to the children enrolled at Calvary Child Development Center, including responding to individual students needs as necessary, completing required documentation and managing all types of Medical Action Plans. Qualifications and Requirements: Commitment to Calvary’s Articles of Faith, Mission & Purpose, and Philosophy of Ministry; Bachelor of Science degree in nursing; Registered Nurse License for State of North Carolina; experience with pediatric population (i.e. ER, pediatrician’s office); CPR-First Aid Certification and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Webmaster/Communications
This is a part-time position working 29.5 hours per week year-round, starting June 1.

Brief Description: The Webmaster/Communications position will serve as the primary source, disseminator and conduit of information for Calvary Child Development Center. Key responsibilities include: Developing/implementing the annual communications plan in collaboration with Calvary CDC key staff, maintaining Calvary CDC website and social media, creating/developing/distributing all print and electronic materials, managing key timely communication updates (including inclement weather closings) and managing all in-house photography of children and school events and associated permissions. Qualifications and Requirements: Commitment to Calvary’s Articles of Faith, Mission & Purpose, and Philosophy of Ministry; Experience with web administration and social media; photography/photography editing skills; excellent writing and editing skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint); and B.A. in English, Communications and/or Graphic Design.
